Celebrating National Manufacturing Day

To celebrate National Manufacturing Day in September, we teamed up with Leeds City College to showcase the exciting opportunities that a career in manufacturing has to offer.

To mark the occasion, we welcomed a cohort of students from Leeds City College to visit us at Bensons. The visit included a behind-the-scenes tour of Bensons, providing a first-hand experience of the processes, technology, and teamwork that drives our operations. It opened up conversation about our role as manufacturers and what we have to offer. Our very own apprentices, Dan, Ellis, and Ethan, also contributed by sharing their experience and advice with the students.

The main aim of the day was to provide an insight into manufacturing careers. While traditional hands-on roles remain an important part of the industry, we wanted to emphasise that there is also a much wider range of opportunities available, all suited to a variety of interests and skill sets.

By teaming up with places like Leeds City College, we hope to inspire more young people to consider a future in manufacturing, helping to close the skill-gap and ensure that the industry continues to grow and evolve.

An Incredible Award for Bensons

We are thrilled to announce that Bensons have been honoured with the prestigious Customer Driven Leadership Award at the recent Johnson Controls Supplier Summit held in Vienna!

Bensons Collaboration Efforts

In the late summer of 2024, this sharing of insight took the form of hosting Yassin, a first year apprentice at Johnson Controls, for a four week placement at Bensons factory in West Yorkshire.

Three New Apprentices

We see apprenticeships continuing to be a key element of the future for Bensons. As technology and processes continue to evolve, it remains vitally important to identify, foster and develop the talent needed to fully exploit the opportunities created.
