Design, Manufacture and Test

With continual investment, we maintain our position at the forefront of technological advancement for control panels, delivering a comprehensive design, manufacture and test service.

To bring you the highest quality control panel with optimum lead times, we’ve invested in a range of design, manufacturing and test technologies.

We were an early adopter of CAD, with our first AutoCAD system installed in the late 1980s. Our current CAD system works with a range of manufacturing technologies to optimise quality, productivity and efficiency.

Our two Perforex machines interface with our CAD system, allowing us to ensure high level precision, quality and speed in our manufacturing process.

With our own laser engraving system, we keep the manufacture of labels in-house, reducing cost and lead times.

Our automated cable preparation facility means our skilled technicians can build superior control panels with the highest quality cables and wiring assemblies.

We have the in-house capability to bend and punch our own copper busbars, up to 100mm x 10mm in cross-section, enabling us to manufacture busbars rated up to 6300A.

Our suite of in-house test equipment, calibrated annually, ensures your control panel is manufactured to the highest quality, guaranteeing functionality when delivered to site. Our 1486m² facility also provides the space to host factory acceptance tests for you as required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are control panels tested before delivery?
Every control panel is tested before it is delivered to site. Bensons uses calibrated in-house testing equipment to confirm the panel has been manufactured correctly and performs as intended. Its Normanton facility can also accommodate customer Factory Acceptance Testing, allowing the completed panel and its functionality to be reviewed before despatch.
Can Bensons work from our existing control panel designs?
Yes. Bensons can work from customer-supplied designs or develop a new control panel design from the initial specification. The team collaborates with customers to ensure the design is practical, meets the required functionality and can be manufactured efficiently. Requirements are reviewed and agreed before the panel moves into production.
