Showtime 2025
Delivering high-quality solutions to customers in multiple sectors is one of the strengths of Bensons in which we take great pride.
Having a wide breadth of knowledge means we can take proven technology solutions from one sector and successfully apply them in another. To do this successfully means that we also need to have a depth of knowledge in each sector, so as to fully understand the risks and potential pitfalls.
This brings the challenge of maintaining both the breadth and depth of sectoral expertise. Fortunately, each sector provides a range of options to keep up to speed with the latest innovations, trends and solutions with a series of trade shows and events. The first quarter of the year generally provides plenty of opportunities to top up knowledge.
That is precisely what we did in the first quarter of 2025.
Key sectors for Bensons include data centres, distributed energy and swimming pools. Handily, major industry events occurred for each in Q1.
Spatex is the UK’s only dedicated water leisure event, running for over 25 years. The event provides a showcase for innovation, a forum for the exchange of knowledge and expertise and the opportunity to meet face to face with customers and suppliers. By attending, we got to exploit all three opportunities. Relationships with customers are key for Bensons, and by attending, we got to meet multiple customers and prospects all in the same day. Alongside this, it was great to see innovations in swimming pool water filtration technology (our main area of interest), in particular around natural water solutions. In addition, a rich and varied agenda of seminars allowed a deep dive into water quality, energy efficiency and other key sector drivers.
Data Centre World at the London Excel is a big event in a big venue. The data centre sector is growing rapidly, and DCW brings the whole industry together in one place. This represents a very broad church ranging from data centre operators, infrastructure providers, backup power, HVAC solutions, as well as a strong focus on AI, cybersecurity and cloud computing. For Bensons, attending this year provided the opportunity to meet with key customers and suppliers and (again) gather insight into the direction that the industry is headed.
The final date on the Q1 roadshow was the Distributed Energy Show, held at Birmingham’s NEC for the first time, in conjunction with Energy Storage Live. The event clashed with DCW, with many companies stretched to attend both. With a rich heritage in the distributed energy sector, Bensons is working successfully to expand our reach within this technology area. Again, valuable seminars to increase our insight and knowledge, the opportunity to catch up with customers old and new, and to see the acceleration and expansion of energy storage solutions.
Attending a range of shows and exhibitions is a valuable investment of time and resources for Bensons. It provides a rich opportunity to spend time with new and existing customers and helps us to stay up to date with the latest industry trends.
