What is involved in the job?

Working with an existing team that spans estimating, engineering and manufacturing, the Technical Sales Engineer will:

  • Interpret customer requirements and specifications to develop well-considered, well-engineered and commercially sound proposals that address customer needs;
  • Convert solution-based opportunities into sales;
  • Develop and sustain long-lasting customer relationships through excellent account management skills, to deliver high-levels of customer satisfaction;
  • Maintain a high-level of customer service at all times, to facilitate repeat business; and
  • Numerate.

  • Successful consultative sales and negotiation skills;

  • Sound electrical engineering capability;
  • Able to work collaboratively with our engineering and manufacturing teams;
  • Able to interpret customer specifications and read electrical drawings; and,
  • Numerate.

Background to the role

The role reports into Director level. Current clients range from blue chip, household names through to SMEs and start-ups, being able to understand and address their differing requirements will be a key element of this role.

The position is primarily office based, with some requirement to travel to meet with customers. The Technical Sales Engineer will need to work both with internal tools and a broad base of suppliers to develop fully costed estimates and proposals for opportunities.

  • Salary up to £35k, depending on candidate;

37hr Hours 20 mins per week

8:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:30 - 16:00 Friday

50 minutes paid lunch each day
